Reference: Delivery of 8 Siemens 1,000 kW electric motors for a customer in Oman

We have managed to complete successfully a large contract for the delivery of electric motors for our foreign customer in Oman. We started to address the project for the delivery of 8 electric motors for a conveyor, with an output of 1,000 kW, in May 2021. After long negotiations regarding the specifications, we won the tender against competitors ABB and WEB. We emerged winners from the tender thanks to a better price and a faster delivery term.  

We are delighted that our company TĚSNOHLÍDEK s.r.o. has been trusted by a customer from a distant country in Southwest Asia. No other partner of the company Siemens in the Czech Republic has been successful in a foreign contract of such magnitude. 

Minor complications incurred during the commission procedure, when the end customer requested minor adjustments to the electric motor equipment, a fact that jeopardised the originally agreed date of delivery. The Covid-19 also played a part to a considerable extent. 

The electric motors were manufactured and delivered in March 2022 to our company’s headquarters. This April, the electric motors were transported from our headquarters to Germany, where they will be assembled with Flender gearboxes. From there, the electric motors will continue to the final destination, i.e. Armenia. 

Specification of the electric motors: 
High voltage electric motor with low voltage, 1400 kW derated to 1000 kW, 1500 rpm, 690 VD, 50 Hz, IMB3, insulated bearing on NDE side, SPM sensors for bearing vibration measurement, PT100 thermometers, anti-condensation heating, IC416 external cooling, encoder, Manufactured in Germany.

These electric motors will drive the conveyor at the height of 3,000 m above sea level, and everything will be controlled by frequency converters. 

The total amount of the contract reached almost € 500,000 excl. VAT.
